Instead of celebrating his 40th birthday, Jesse Cody found himself surrounded by friends, deeply depressed and suicidal. This was the first step in what would become a monumental journey in reckoning with his mental health, taking action to resolve narcissistic behavior, and find passion and purpose in his life. His first assignment: Hike the Appalachian Trail. Thus, his passion for hiking, deep love and respect for nature, and purpose in shining a light on mental health was discovered.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Whether Narcissism can be “healed”,
  • The value of a through-hiking support ‘team’,
  • Recognizing and respecting the force of Mother Nature,
  • Finding clarity of purpose,
  • How to reconcile your passion with work when they’re not the same thing,
  • The impacts of social media and social isolation,
  • Bringing awareness to teen suicide
